Oil Change in KL

A Malaysian friend suggested to use Petronas oil for my car. Then he also suggested to use the semi-synthetic oil, according to him my car is not working so hard because I mostly use it for transportation from my apartment to the office and seldomly drive to the client's office .... so I finally bought the Syntium semi-synthetic oil that cost me MYR 79.00 for 4 litre oil. The friend also suggested to always change the filter oil whenever I do the oil change, according to him it will cost me circa MYR 20.00 for oil change.

I planned to do the oil change in Sri Petaling, however I have to go to the HSBC's ATM in Puchong to withdraw some money, on the way home I saw a service station nearby the bank where I can do the oil change, so I decided to do the oil change in Puchong instead in Sri Petaling as initially planned.

After open the engine cover, the technician asked me whether I want to do engine flush before the oil change, engine flush is good for the car engine, I couldn't resist the offer and decided to get it .... I thought it will cost me circa MYR 15.00 .... not a big deal .... he pour the liquid to the engine and turn on the engine for 5 minutes.

During flushing, he opened the brake fluid container which contains the red fluid, then he get another brake fluid, he informed me that the brake fluid that I an currently using is a dot3 brake fluid, now there is a better one which is the dot4 brake fluid with a plain color, he offered me to change the brake fluid .... I told him that I need to check with my friend, my friend told me that it's not necessary to do it now, the current brake fluid can be last for another 10.000 km.

Then, the technician open the container of the power steering oil, then he informed me that it's now quite dirty and should be replaced .... I don't know much about car ... I am just an ordinary user .... realizing that I couldn't refuse the offer of engine flushing .... then I say no for the offer ....

After 5 minutes of engine flushing, he turn off the engine, he raised my car with the hydraulic tool and pour out the engine oil .... wow .... the oil was so black .... hehehe .... this is too late anyway, the oil change should have been done 2 weeks ago ....

After installed the new oil filter, he closed the engine oil pipe while the oil still coming out .... in Indonesia the technician will wait until no more oil coming out. He lower down the car and pour the Syntium oil into the engine .... the 4 liter oil can not fit into the engine ... I think it's only 3.5 litre fit into the engine.

When paying .... the total damage is MYR 56.00 (MYR 25.00 for engine flush Nasa, MYR 16 for the new oil filter, and MYR 15.00 for labor cost) ....

Imagine the total damage if I decided to change the brake fluid as well as the power steering oil .... probably will be more than MYR 100.00 .... :(

Then .... I need to do another oil change after 7.000 km ......

I plan to do oil change in other place later on ..... I feel that paying too much today .....

Working at Saturday ..... again!

Yeah .... I have to work at Saturday again! The project that I am currently working has a very tight schedule, so has to work today as last Saturday ... :(

Work till 7 pm ..... quite exhausted, then drive back from Bangi to Sri Petaling, an accident was happen on the way home made the traffic so slow when approaching Sri Petaling.

Stop over at Petronas gas station, buy the oil machine .... ahh ... the oil machine change should have been done last week .... :( .... hopefully this will be done tomorrow then ....
